Prior to entering the financial industry, I worked for the globally-recognized beverage brand, Coca Cola. It was here where I recognized my passion for serving others. Whether at a small business or a multi franchise organization, I had a thirst for moving the needle forward and creating a financial impact for others.
My focus to transition into the financial industry began when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in January of 2012. This was only two months after being approved for a Life Insurance Policy myself and two weeks after sadly losing my mother to cancer where coverage there was no coverage at all. I first hand experienced both sides of the fence.
Being only 35 years old and likely ineligible for a policy had I delayed getting coverage by just 60 days, it deeply heightened the importance of Life Insurance. Later that year, the experience of quitting smoking to reduce my insurance costs, becoming divorced and transitioning to a single income household further emphasized the need for having a strong financial plan in place.
When my workplace at the time underwent structural changes, I finally left the profit-before-people environment and pursued a people-first career as a financial advisor.
